Accuraty recently upgraded our hosting servers to the newest version of SmarterMail. This was a major update with some important new features that are bringing SmarterMail a step closer to Microsoft Exchange, which is another service that we offer in the form of Hosted Exchange (Accuraty HX, but that is a subject for another page or article).
SmarterMail version 9 features a completely updated interface and, in many areas, performs 10 times faster than version 8. The web interface has been optimized for viewing on tablet devices, as well as the upcoming Windows 8 Metro. The new interface includes full functionality through both desktop and mobile devices. Our own tests on Droid and Windows Phone confirm that unlike version 8, webmail is now very usable on the go!
The update also includes integration with Exchange Web Services (EWS). EWS is a very efficient way to synchronize mail, calendars, contacts, notes, and more. SmarterMail is one of the first mail servers to support EWS, other than Microsoft Exchange itself. EWS will be supported by Microsoft Office 2012 as well, and works with the current/latest version of Mac Office.
